Guinness – the black is back.

We are back drinking the black stuff and it is official. After a continued decline in Guinness sales for years the latter half of 2007 saw a rise of 3% in Ireland. Worldwide sales increased by 6% with growth in the US, UK and Nigeria.
On a related note there sill has not been a decision whether Guinness will move from its traditional home St James’s Gate. Even with the dip in property in Ireland the 64 acre city center site a golden egg. It would be a shame if the move goes ahead as Guinness has brewed at St James’s Gate since 1759.
Would a move affect the taste as it is believed that Guinness is brewed from the sweet water from the liffey (joke!)?
More importantly would a move affect jobs?
I would like to point out that this writer has not contributed to the increased sales of Guinness but contributed it the sales of most other alcoholic drinks last night – 14th Feb.
