Origina creates 60 jobs in Dublin & Medtronic lets 30 go in Galway.

Origina

Origina will create 60 new jobs over the next 2 years in Ireland as part of a EUR3m investment programme. The jobs will be created in Dublin at Sandyford Industrial Estate.

Origina was established in 1998 to manage data storage for large Irish companies. Origina changed its name so that it can compete across Europe under one brand name. Origina is focusing on hiring IT staff and IT consultants as part of the expansion. The majority of these staff will be based in Dublin and will increase the number employed by the company to 120.

Origina’s has a wide customer base and won the prize for IT Project of the Year (Public Sector) for its work with the Department of Education and Science at the 2008 ICT Awards.

Medtronic

Medtronic will seek 30 redundancies at its west of Ireland plant. The company currently employs 2000 staff in Ireland. This follows 50 temp staff being let go in February.
