Abtran creates new 250 jobs in Cork
250 new jobs have been announced at business outsourcing specialists Abtran in Co Cork.
The company, which is the largest indigenous business process outsourcer, is less than ten years old and already employs almost 600 people in Cork.
Abtran handles the outsourcing of business for a range of Irish and International clients.
Some of its customers include private companies and Government and semi-State organisations.
The new jobs are being advertised immediately and are for third-level graduates across a range of disciplines.

The further expansion of Abtran in Bishopstown in the wake of recent job announcements shows that Cork remains a major investment location despite the Global economic challenges, according to Fianna Fáil TD and Minister for Foreign Affairs, Micheál Martin.
“Today’s announcement during a visit by Taoiseach, Brian Cowen, follows confirmation that the ESB is investing in Nualight creating 60 jobs and the creation of 100 jobs by Big Fish Games in Mahon.”
“Abtran is a leader in customer service and is working with high profile companies in Ireland and Britain, its high standards have been well recognised.”
“The investments we have made in transport infrastructure and in training our local workforce have ensured both the City and the County can compete with any location in Ireland and Europe in attracting jobs.”
“The job creation agencies of the State are continuing to prioritise Cork and to sell our attractiveness for investment to companies throughout the world despite the downturn and have shown we can offer firms many advantages”, concluded Minister Martin.
