Hormann Electronics – 138 Jobs to go in Cork.
Hormann Electronics will close with the loss of 138 jobs in Cork.
The news follows after the appointment of receivers to the company last week and failed efforts to save the plant. This is the 3rd set back to the IT/Electronics sector in the region over the last 18 months following Bourns Electronics and redundancies at Motorola.
Hormann Electronics has been based in Cork for 30 years and focused on the circuit board market. The plant’s main business was assembling and testing circuit boards. The palnt has struggled to compete with other markets from a cost point of view and made the decision to close.
