PayPal creates 150 new jobs in Dublin to support further growth

DUBLINWednesday 16 February 2011PayPal, the leading online payments provider, today announced 150 new jobs at its European operations and customer service headquarters in Blanchardstown, Dublin. The new roles will support PayPal’s fast growing European business, which achieved $1 billion in revenues for the first time in 2010.

PayPal is looking for full-time and part-time positions in customer service and merchant services for individuals fluent in English and a second European language. More than 1,200 people already work at PayPal’s European Centre of Excellence in Blanchardstown, providing operational and customer support to consumers and businesses across Europe.
 
Louise Phelan, senior director for global customer services & EU merchant services, PayPal European operations, said; “PayPal’s continuing success story means that we need to expand our excellent team in Dublin for the fourth time in the last two years. We have gone from strength to strength since the Taoiseach officially opened our European Centre of Excellence in March 2009. I look forward to welcoming our new colleagues to our Centre of Excellence here at Blanchardstown. I would also like to thank the IDA for the support we have received from it over the years.”

PayPal’s European operation centre opened in Dublin in 2003. Since then the number of staff has increased from just 25 to more than 1,200 today. In 2009, PayPal invested €15 million in the establishment of a European Centre of Excellence in Blanchardstown, with the support of IDA Ireland. The Dublin centre manages all direct customer contact for PayPal’s businesses across Europe.

PayPal creates 100 new jobs

Global online payments company PayPal today announced the creation of a further 100 new jobs in Customer Service and Operations at its European Centre of Excellence in Blanchardstown, Dublin. The new roles are in addition to the 150 extra jobs announced during 2009.

PayPal currently employs more than 1,100 people at its Blanchardstown site. Today’s announcement has opened up further opportunities for permanent positions in customer service and operations for individuals fluent in English and a second European language. Commenting on the announcement, Uwe Heddendorp, Vice President PayPal European Operations, said: “It is a great testament to the team here in Dublin that we are able to announce the creation of further jobs at PayPal. PayPal to create 100 jobs in Dublin

Online payments company PayPal plans to add 100 new jobs in customer service and operations in Blanchardstown in Dublin.
PayPal, which is owned by online auction company eBay, already employs more than 950 people at the Blanchardstown site.
The new positions are for people fluent in English and a second European language.
The Dublin centre manages all direct customer contact for PayPal’s businesses across Europe.
The company expects that more than half of its growth over the next three years will be from outside the US.

PayPal announces 35 new jobs

PayPal the online payments company, is setting up a new European centre of excellence in Dublin, which will create 35 new jobs.

The company, which is owned by online auction company eBay, already employs 900 people at its centre in Ballycoolin in west Dublin. The €15m investment has been supported by IDA Ireland.

PayPal president Scott Thompson said the 35 new positions were highly-skilled jobs.
